Purpose:

The purpose of the  Assumption Philoptochos Continuing Education scholarship is to financially support continued academic education for women in our community, recognize academic achievements, and encourage volunteer activities consistent with the mission of the Philoptochos.

• $1,000 to be awarded annually, for up to 4 years, leading to completion of an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree. 

Qualifications:

•Be an Orthodox Christian

•Be an active steward (time, talent, or treasure) of the Assumption Cathedral

•Must have completed at least the first year of academic studies leading to an accredited degree

•Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA

•Must  actively participate in Assumption Philoptochos programs, or similar school or community activities consistent with the Philoptochos mission

Applications:

•Submissions due by June, 30, 2024

•Will provide continued, annual funding, if the selected applicant continues to meet qualifications

•Award will be announced 15 August 2024
